Rick served as Mayor of Killarney from 2007 to 2020 and now continues to serve the community as Deputy Mayor. Widely respected for his effective leadership and collaborative approach, he helped unite residents around major projects such as the Shamrock Centre while working with provincial partners to recruit physicians and secure critical flood relief funding. A local business owner and longstanding advocate for rural Manitoba, Rick has consistently championed strong municipal leadership and practical solutions for growing communities. In recent years, he has focused on strengthening local services and supporting newcomers, helping recruit new doctors to Killarney, securing a new fire truck for the community, and providing housing and support to Ukrainian families rebuilding their lives.
