As a teacher, Shannon understands that local communities are the heart of Manitoba's future. Shannon has lived her entire life in Transcona and has spent decades working in the River East Transcona School Division. She currently serves as the Vice Principal of Transcona Collegiate. 

Shannon cares about the future of this community — a place where seniors can age with dignity, where kids can reach success and where working families can afford to live a good life. 

As MLA she will work to help more Transcona seniors access good quality homecare or have the option to stay in the community if they need a Personal Care Home. She will work to make school class sizes smaller and bring new school investments to the community so more Manitobans can raise their kids in Transcona. 

Shannon worked alongside Nello Altomare in the school system, and was honoured to count him as a mentor. She served as fundraising chair for both of Nello's election wins — as MLA she would spend each day honouring his memory and continuing his service to the people of Transcona.
