Shannon Corbett was elected as the NDP MLA for Transcona in a provincial by‑election on March 18, 2025.

Shannon is a lifelong resident of Transcona and has deep roots in the community she represents.  Before entering politics, she built a career in education, working for decades within the River East Transcona School Division in Student Services and as an Administrator.  Her professional background has shaped her priorities, particularly in the areas of education, community development, and support for families, people with additional needs, and seniors.

As MLA, Corbett has emphasized strengthening local services, improving access to education and health care, and ensuring that people with additional needs, families and seniors can continue to thrive within their communities.  Her work reflects a focus on practical community needs and a commitment to representing the interests of Transcona residents in the Manitoba Legislature.
