Treaty 1 and Dakota Territory, Homeland of the Red River Métis, Winnipeg, MB—Joined by two hundred members, the NDP have nominated Renée Cable to fight back against Audrey Gordon’s health cuts as their candidate for Southdale in the next election.

“Southdale families want a brighter future, one where reliable health care is there when you need it and life is affordable,” said Cable. “Audrey Gordon cut health care, made the surgery backlog worse and sent patients all around the province for care. I know families in Southdale want a government that cares about them and their futures. I believe in that too—and that’s why I’m ready to fight for families alongside Wab Kinew and the NDP.”

Renée Cable is a mother and Métis woman who has dedicated her life to fighting for social progress. She is a long-time NDP activist, community volunteer and advocate. She’s served on childcare and non-profit organizations. In her work she helps unions and non-profits advocate for better working conditions, affordable public services and a more equitable and just society for all of us.
