Ian Bushie was first elected as the NDP MLA for Keewatinook in 2019.

Ian Bushie is a proud member and former Chief of Hollow Water First Nation. 
In 2021 and 2022, Ian took the initiative to introduce legislation to designate Orange Shirt Day as a statutory holiday in Manitoba, demonstrating his commitment to recognizing the importance of this day. In addition to his public service, he has maintained a small business within his home community for more than two decades.
Ian draws inspiration as a proud father to six children, and this motivates his ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being and quality of life for the people of northern Manitoba.
