NDP Nominate Tyler Blashko in Lagimodière

The Manitoba NDP have nominated educator and long-time community member Tyler Blashko to run for the NDP in Lagimodière.

“People in this community are tired of PC cuts and ready for a brighter future. While life gets more expensive for regular folks and quality health care gets farther out of reach, the PCs are focused on giving handouts to billionaires. Lagimodière families deserve an MLA that works for them,” said Blashko. “I’m running alongside Wab Kinew and the NDP because I know we are the only party that can tackle these challenges and make life easier for young people, seniors and working families.”

Tyler Blashko is a queer Métis man who grew up in Island Lakes and who has roots in Lagimodière that go back for 150 years. He is an educator who works with high school students to support them in graduating and transitioning to adulthood. Tyler holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and was president of the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg. Alongside Wab Kinew and the NDP team, Tyler is committed to working for a Manitoba that is affordable, sustainable, and full of opportunities for everyone to succeed.

“Tyler is a community leader who is ready to work hard on behalf of Lagimodière families. He knows first hand the challenges young people and families face to get the opportunities they deserve,” said NDP Leader Wab Kinew. “While the PCs put their political interests ahead of regular people, Tyler and the NDP will always put families first.”
