Manitoba NDP Nominate Nellie Kennedy in Assiniboia

Treaty 1 and Dakota Territory, Homeland of the Red River Métis, Winnipeg MB-Today the Manitoba NDP nominated Nellie Kennedy as their candidate in Assiniboia for the upcoming provincial election.

“Families in Assiniboia want a government that is ready to start fixing health care and help out with the cost of living,” said Kennedy. “After seven years of Brian Pallister and Heather Stefanson’s cuts, it’s time for a change. Alongside Wab Kinew, I’m running to make sure families in Assiniboia get the health care they need, the opportunities they deserve and a life they can afford.”

Kennedy has lived with her partner and two children in the Assiniboia constituency for the last 13 years. She’s passionate about supporting families and works as commuinity service worker for Manitobans with disabilities and the volunteer director of the Postpartum DepressionAssociation of Manitoba.

“Nellie knows how important it is to support families and we’re excited to have her join our team as we put forward our positive vision for Manitoba,” said Manitoba NDP Leader Wab Kinew. “After seven years of PC cuts, families in Assiniboia are ready for a government that helps them out by fixing the chaos at the Grace hospital and freezing hydro bills to make their life more affordable.”
