Manitoba NDP Nominate Jasdeep Devgan in McPhillips

Treaty 1 and Dakota Territory, Homeland of the Red River Métis, Winnipeg MB – The Manitoba NDP have nominated Jasdeep Devgan as their candidate in McPhillips for the upcoming provincial election.

“Families in McPhillips want better health care, lower Hydro bills, and a brighter future for their children and grandchildren,” Devgan said. “After seven years of Brian Pallister and Heather Stefanson’s cuts, it’s time for a government that will work for Manitobans by fixing health care and making life more affordable. I’m excited to be part of the Manitoba NDP team, because Wab Kinew is the only leader who can get the job done.”

Devgan worked as the Director of Government and Community Engagement at the University of Manitoba. An active member of his community, he is the youngest ever vice-president of the Sikh Society of Manitoba, an organization he has been involved with for over ten years.

“Jasdeep’s combination of experience and passion for community will make him an amazing representative for the people of McPhillips, and a valuable part of our Manitoba NDP team,” said Manitoba NDP Leader Wab Kinew. “Manitobans are ready for change after seven years of PC cuts and failures. Our team has a positive vision to build a better life for families in McPhillips and all across Manitoba.”
