MLA Matt Wiebe Nominated as NDP Candidate for Concordia

The Manitoba NDP nominated MLA Matt Wiebe to run again to represent Concordia in the next provincial election.

“For the last 12 years I’ve worked with Concordia families and communities to fight back against PC cuts to health care. I’ve listened to parents who want smaller class sizes for their kids, and seniors who can’t afford the PC hydro rate hikes,” said Wiebe. “I know Concordia residents believe a brighter future is possible and they trust Wab Kinew and our team to deliver it. We’ll invest in health care, support families and make life more affordable for families in Concordia and across the province.”

Matt Wiebe lives in Concordia with his wife and two children. He worked with community members and health care workers to push back against the PCs closure of the Concordia ER and he helped parents and educators fight back against Bill 64. As the NDP critic for municipalities and infrastructure, Wiebe has held the PCs to account for their cuts to roads and highways that are costing Manitobans more money than ever on vehicle repairs. Wiebe serves as the Caucus Whip.

“Matt Wiebe is a strong community leader who listens and cares,” said NDP Leader Wab Kinew. “When he's not in the Legislature fighting for Concordia families, he’s out in the community knocking on doors and listening to his constituents. Our team is working hard for families in North East Winnipeg and across the province who are ready for a government that cares.”
