Trudy: Fort Whyte Families Deserve Better than the Pallister-Stefanson PCs

January 6, 2022

Treaty 1 and Dakota Territory, Homeland of the Métis Nation, Winnipeg MB—The NDP’s candidate in the Fort Whyte by-election, Trudy Schroeder, sent a clear message to her PC challenger today: Fort Whyte families are fed up with the Pallister-Stefanson government’s health care cuts and ready for a change.

“Brian Pallister and Heather Stefanson have done so much damage to our provide system that Fort Whyte families are telling me they just don’t trust the PCs anymore,” said Trudy. “Obby Khan has chosen a party that has damaged our health care system and made life harder for people in this community. This by-election is about sending a message to Heather Stefanson and the PCs that Manitobans want change for the better. I’m running alongside Wab Kinew and the NDP to stop the cuts, fix health care and education and form a government that will lead Manitoba forward.”

Trudy was nominated as the NDP’s candidate in December, ready to run a campaign that’s focused on solutions for health care, education, the environment and respecting workers. With the NDP, Trudy will fix the damage Brian Pallister and Heather Stefanson have caused to our health care system, making life more affordable and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

As the former Executive Director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Folk Festival, Trudy is an expert in connecting people, and building community while balancing the books. She has lived in Fort Whyte with her husband and daughters for more than 26 years.
