Stop Interfering in Universities
University staff are in the middle of collective bargaining negotiations. They’re standing up for students, good jobs and the future of our province. But the PCs are getting in the way.
Last time they intervened in negotiations, they tried to cut university budgets by 30% in the middle of the second wave. The NDP, shoulder to shoulder with staff and their reps, fought back and won.
The PCs are trying to intefere in universities again -- so they can dictate how faculty teach and what programs are funded.
It's causing unneeded stress for faculty and students. And it's led some staff and representatives to raise the possibility of a strike.
Partisan agendas don't belong in universities. The PCs should stop interfereing.
