NDP Nominate Jamie Moses in St. Vital

Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba NDP has announced Jamie Moses as the nominated candidate in the new constituency of St. Vital.

“Jamie is the kind of compassionate community voice that St. Vital families are looking for,” said Wab Kinew, Leader of the Manitoba NDP. “As a corporate leader, community volunteer and dedicated family man I know Jamie truly understands the issues facing the people of St. Vital. He’s eager to fight back against Brian Pallister’s cuts to hospitals and schools and I’m honoured to stand alongside him in that fight.”

Jamie Moses has worked in leadership roles at Investors Group, technology company Rapid RTC and the Canadian Wheat Board. A longtime resident of St. Vital, Jamie has built lasting relationships with families, small businesses and grassroots organizations through his volunteer work and community participation. He serves on the board of several local organizations including Glenwood Community Centre, the Glenwood parent advisory council and the Barbara Mitchell Family Resource Centre. A passionate athlete, Jamie has coached high school basketball for over ten years.

Jamie has been a strong critic against the Pallister government’s cuts to St. Vital families including closing community health clinics, increasing class sizes in schools and cutting Educational Assistants from classrooms.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Agribusiness from the University of Manitoba. He is the proud husband of Shannon and father to Malika.

The Manitoba NDP is in the process of nominating candidates across the province in preparation for the next provincial election. The 2018 Electoral Divisions Boundaries Commission Report required a founding meeting for all new or redrawn constituencies, including St. Vital.
